New Parents
Thank you for considering GAP Child Care Center for your child.
We fully understand how difficult it is to choose a child care center. Parents must educate themselves on the quality and range of services available at various centers, and they must feel confident that the center they ultimately choose offers appropriate emotional, social, and intellectual growth. A warm, supportive environment for both children and parents is also critical to a child’s growth and well-being. See a list of suggested questions to help you evaluate a prospective child development center.
Parents should observe caregivers interacting with children before deciding on a child care center, which is why we offer an open door policy. Parents have the opportunity to see our teachers, children, and various programs in action and ask questions about all aspects of our center. No appointment is needed! Our teachers and staff are always available to answer questions and address concerns on topics ranging from enrollment to tuition assistance to curriculum to behavior or anxiety problems.
Since we first opened our doors in 1982, GAP has built a community around the health, happiness, and well-being of children, and we encourage parents to become an active part of it. Parents are welcome to volunteer both on field trips and in the classroom. GAP holds regular meetings to discuss various parenting topics, strengthen the community, allow parents to meet each other, and broaden everyone’s understanding of their child's inner world. Recent discussion topics have included:
-
Fatherhood
- Abuse and neglect
- Self-esteem and self-confidence
- Special needs children
- Behavior modification
- Discipline
